Merk smirked. "You're arrogant, if you think I can't beat you, when I beat that Vizard oh so easily." He smiled openly. "To be honest, I was holding back, hoping you'd see reason. I can tell you've had an experience like this before." He looked at her with those piercing eyes. "Tell me. What was his name, and how long did we torture him?"

"Don't even go there," She hissed through clenched teeth. "I don't know what happened to him." She blinked back tears. Not here, not now. "You must think I'm quite the fool, to keep going on like this, sooner or later someone will hear and all or Seireitei will come running."

"Oh, someone will come. And when they do, they'll find half the room destroyed, and you alone. This Captain will be gone. So then you'll have failed two men." He laughed, gesturing toward Roren. "Don't you hate it when people look at you, and you can tell what they're thinking? Pretty soon, you'll be avoided like the plague. You'll be the Arrancar Bringer, the Destroyer of Lives, and the One that let him get away."
He smirked again. "I'll bet you've had that experience. And that's not taking into account what you think of yourself. For, though you may not know what happened, you know what we do. If we find a loyal Shinigami..." He laughed, "We torture it, until we lose interest..."

Zuki scowled, but somewhere inside of her there was a little glimmer of light, thisman was commpletely clueless to their actual positions. "No ne blames me for his loss, only my father, and if this is a loss then they won't blame me, the never do." Though her reply was cool her heart was pounding at his words.
What if they had found him, then what happened to him? There was a stabbing feeling in her chest, her throat clogged up with tears. She had lost all will to fight, to live, this man had brought back all the things she had wanted to forget and they fluttered rapidly through her mind.

Merk chuckled. "Don't blame you? Of course they blame you. We, as sentient beings, subconsiously make a connection between two events." He held out one hand. "So, you were there when this Captain was taken." He held out the other. "I took the man, and there isn't a scratch on me." He clapped the hands together. "And look, they all see you in a completely different light now!" He smirked. "Perhaps your father is the one that is correct."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, no one expects a lieutenant to take on a powrful man such as yourself," That, was of course, true, she didn't let out that no one would blame a captain for having her lieutenant taken with said man. Zuki was running out of energy, mostly just because she hadn't slept in five days, and they couldn't blame that on anyone.
"So mister Jigrent, even if you take the captain to that place, I can't be blamed."

Merk laughed. "First of all, thank you for the compliment! I am a rather powerful man!" He giggled some more. "Second, I don't care what others think of you. When your other friend got taken by us, what did you think...of yourself? How did you feel? How depressing was it? And now, it's going to happen all over again..."
He then used Shunpo to come behind her, and swipe at her back, once, just to keep things going...

She moved forward, barely avoiding his attack. "I don't think you understand, he wasnt taken, he was sent. I don't know if arrancar had anything to do with it, I wasn't there on his exile day, I wasn't allowed to be, as far as I know hollow got him." She took a deep breath. "But that doesn't matter now...this battle is prolonging now, both of us are weaker than at the start, this fight is drawing it's close. If you agree to leave peacefully I won't alert the rest of Seireitei of you're intrusion, but if you decide to fight, I'll have to alert a captain of two."

Merk laughs. "Well, at least he ended up in Hueco Mundo..." He sighed. "Very well, I'll leave peacefully...with the Captain, that is..." He smiled. "You'll have to let me go. It's not like I can use shunpo fast as usual with him in my arms..." He laughed. "You'll need to get a few Captains to have a chance of stopping me...especially since..."
He pointed to his head. "Rangis is watching. He always watches me, when I go on missions. And I can't exactly lose, and embarass myself..."

"Leave the captain here," She glared at him. "You leave me no choice, I'll have to summon more captains." She shunpo'd a few feet away. "Black and white net. Twenty-two bridges, sixty-six crowns and belts." She began, if she was going to alert the rest of the soul society this would definitaly be the way to go about it. "Footprints, distant thunder, sharp peak, engulfing land, hidden in the night, sea of clouds, blue line. Form a circle and fly through the heaven." She knelt on the ground and looked up at him with eyes that said, 'This is your last chance'.

Merk smiled. "Go ahead, there's no reason for me to run..." He stared at her, waiting for the spell do go through. He'd need to be careful, now. Several Captains was nothing to scoff at. He readied his Shikai. As soon as she performed the spell, that was his time to spring. He would have to leave quickly, if he was going to escape capture...

She put her hands on the floor. "Bakudou 77: Tenteikuura !" A light when around her. "Captains of the Gotei 13, we need assistance from the nearest captain to the 12th squad labs, immidiately!" She yelled, "Lieutenant Tsukiyo Kyohaku!" She hoped they would all realize what she meant and not blow her cover when they came. The light faded, Zuki still stunned and a bit weak from the effort the kidou took.

Merk struck, and swiped his Shikai directly at her midsection. This time, he made sure she wasn't unconsious, so her death would be that much more enjoyable. Sure was a stupid decision. What are the chances a Captain is near here? This Research Center is so far away from the rest of Seritei, and even if they do, I'll just finish them, too...

The blow hit her with a shocking force. Pain was all she could think about, just the pain. Her body hit the floor with a dull thud. She kept telling herself that she had done all she could have, but she knew she hadn't. If she had revealed bankai then they could be in more trouble than they already were. She knew he wanted to kill her, though that would put him in a difficult position in the long run seeing as she was captain. No, Zuki wouldn't die, she was sure of it, though she wasn't so sure what would happen to him.
What would happen when they found out that they had gotten the wrong person? Would they kill him? Would they cme after her instead? All were possibilities, but she had to focus on living first.

Merk smiled, as he looked down at her. "I wasn't going to kill you, but you've insulted me by thinking I was that weak..." He seal his zanpakuto, and raised it. "I hope you like wherever Shinigami go when they die. Say hello to your little friend for me..." And with that, he gathered his strength to perform the final blow...
Just then, a figure flew into the room, knocking Merk into the wall behind him. When the smoke cleared, there stood a man with short brown hair, wearing his Captain's Haori...Raul Shihouin...
