Zuki blinked a few times. "But Captain-!" She put an annoyed look on her face. That was the smartest and most idiotic move I've ever seen. She lowered her head. "Yes, Captain, as you wish." That was fun, she didn't realizing how nice it was to be a subordinate, or at least pretend you were one. "Sir, you can't be thinking of having a battle can you, it wouldn't be wise, others might get involved, we should just kill the man quickly and silently," She hinted through clenched teeth. "Don't you agree?"

Roren sighed. "You don't sound like a Shinigami, Zuki. You know we can't just go around killing people." He turned and looked at the boy. "I'm giving you a shot to give this up. Just leave, or stay, we'll protect you from whoever's doing this. Just don't start this. I want peace..." He stared at the boy. Something about him irked Roren, maybe it was his happiness at what he was doing. Whatever happened, he hoped he didn't get any others involved...

Merk's face softened. "You're right..." He said, tears welling up in his eyes. "I don't want to do this. Especially not to my friends. It's just..." He took a step forward. "It's just he's making me, and if I don't, he'll kill me..." He looked at Roren. "You'll protect me, won't you?"
_______
Roren smiled, warmly. "Yes, we will, don't worry. You'll be safe here..." _______
Merk's face brightened. "Thank you! Thank you so much!" He said, walking over to Roren. He looked from Roren to Zuki. Not a hint of a guard, not a zanpakuto out. Perfect.
"Waikyoku, Prolifora." He said, holding his zanpakuto out, and leaping at the Lieutenant. He used his usual move, running it through her main organs, though he missed the brain, so she was paralyzed, but not knocked out. He turned, and faced the Captain.
"Now, come with me or you'll end up hurting..." He said, with no smile...

Pain rushed through Zuki's body in an instant. Heart heart skipped a beat as her body crumpled on the floor. He had fell for it and she had had no choice but to go along. She would have taken him down without even a thought if it were her, just leave him alive for the others to interogate him, but Roren, he hadn't known better, most lieutenants had never had to make those choices. Now it was happening again, that curse, her curse, another of her lieutenants would have to go to that horrid place, but that was nothing now. She was lying on the floor, her bones aching and her heart ponding rapidly in her chest, that man was danerous, she just hoped Roren knew it as well as she did.

Roren's face glowed with rage. "What...what the..." He said, unable to form words for his anger. "I attempt to show you kindness, and in return you hurt my...Subordinate???" He yelled, his face red. "Oh, I'm not the one that will be hurting..." He said, laughing. "YOU'LL be hurting!"
He held his sword up in front of him. "Hyakushutsu, Tenmou..." He said. Suddenly, his sword seemed to split into 5 different ones, all floating on their own. As they rushed in to attack Merk, he readied some Kido. "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bares the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws...HADO, THIRTY THREE! BLUE FIRE, CRASH DOWN!"
And with the force of the incantation behind Roren's already stellar ability with Kido, a ridiculously powerful Kido shot at Merk. Well, ridiclously powerful for a number 33...

Merk watched the Shikai, and began parrying the swords. Suddenly, he saw the Kido, and used Shunpo to get out of the way, swords still following him. The Kido destroyed an entire wall of the Research Area, behind him. No doubt, as the Captain, he didn't like that. Merk sent his own Shot of Red Fire, but without the incantation. Roren dodged it easily, and the fight continued...

Zuki inwardly winced. It would take weeks to redo that wall, but that wasn't the task at hand, either she needed to find a way out of this paralysis or she would just lie there and watch them fight, the option she didn't like. Luckily she would still think. Obviously this is some sort of paralysis caused by his zanpakutoh but is there a wa out and if so what is it. God this is so annyoing, I have to get out of this before somthing really bad happened, he's already release his zanpakutoh, and on a whim too, which means he's probably fighting with his heart and not his head, that make my time frame shorter than normal.

Roren watched as the swords were parried, constantly, and his kido was dodged. "Damnit..." He said..."Ok, that's it, I'm done with you..."
He raised his hands, and the swords shook. "Bankai..." He said. His Bankai was released, he used his power of Kido to effect Merk's mind. He caused the images of his swords to double, so it appeared as if there were 10, when there were 5. He also stimulated Merk's mind to imagine him as someone he had cared for. Unfortunatly, this would effect Zuki, as well, but she could deal with it..

Merk stopped. A Bankai? Already? This man truly did care about his subordinates. Oh, well...
He saw the swords morph. He attempted to parry one, and his sword went straight through it, and he was slashed in the back by the true sword. "Damn..." He muttered. This was obviously a mind effecting zanpakuto. Well, he'd have to think outside the box, a little...

Zuki's mouth ran dry. Revealing his bankai already wasn't a smart idea, not this early in a battle. She did all she could do, watch and hoped that somehow Roren whould win, no matter what, he had to. This paralysis perplexed her, there were the usual ways of getting out of paralysis but she had a feeling none of those would work. By the time I escape this'll be over, damn.

Roren watched as Merk's face stopped, and as he gazed at Roren. He still parried the swords, but he could tell Merk was seeing what he would consider a ghost. Roren smirked. This was going according to plan...

Merk was parrying perfectly now. He knew that the swords that he inctinctively wanted to parry were fake, and he parried the ones he didn't think were real. But now, as he looked at the figure, his mind reeled.
There, stood a girl. About his age, maybe a bit older. This was the girl he had met when he first became a Shinigami. They had been in the same squad. He shook his head. "No, it can't be..." He muttered. What did he do to her?
Oh...that's right...
...He had killed her...

Zuki looked across the room, there stood a figure, in a place he hadn't stood since Roren became lietenant. Just standing there, looking down on her in the friendly was he always had and smiling. He was dead, she knew he was, her father had told her that he was dead, so how was he there? It must be a zanpakutoh, though she wished it wasn't. It was him, it really was. His white hair was in the same messy formation it always was and his blue eyes peered gently down on her as if looking straight into her soul. Aiji...Shuhan... Her heart fluttered at the name. Though she was to smart to think it was real that didn't make it non-exciting, she hadn't seen that face in years yet remembered every tiny freckle and laugh wrinkle on his face. oh how he laughed.
She pulled herself down to reality, she couldn't bring back the dead, nothing could, but she wished that it was real. Those days were her best, everyone in the squad had loved Aiji as a lieutenant, she had love him the most and he was the reason she couldn't let Roren get taken to Hueco Mundo. Aiji had to go there, Roren shouldn't meet the same place his predecessor, no, that would be to much.
She concentrated her energy on her left hand, trying to bring life back to it. She strained, pushed reiatsu through her in an irregular cycle. Feeling flooded through her right hand, she moved a few fingers. That took way to much, jeesh, this is going to be hard.

Roren watched as the boy gazed at him. He called for the swords to go behind the boy, and wait for the final blow from behind. He walked to the boy. By now, the child's head would be replaying vocals for this illusion. The spirit would be talking to him, although Roren didn't know what it was saying. He watched...and waiting...

Merk gaped at the figure. "Hello, Merk..." She said to him. Was she talking to him? "Why, Merk? Why did you do it?" He smiled. "You know very well why I did it, Sonla. The Shinigami are weak now."
She sighed. "You really are hopeless, Merk. You killed me..." Merk laughed. "This isn't you, it's that Captain's Bankai..." He raised his zanpakuto.
"But you wouldn't kill me again, would you, Merk?" Merk thought for a moment. Then, he willed his zanpakuto to maximum pain. "Yes, a thousand times over...for Rangis..." And with that, he stabbed Sonla. Which means he stabbed Roren.
___________
Roren had never experienced a pain such as this. It was both mentally and physically daunting. Think every torture in existence, and the feeling of loss unequaled. His eyes sprang open, and started to tear. His fists were clenched so tight, blood began running down his fists from his nails. And, with that, he passed out, and his zanpakuto reverted back to its sealed state...
