Zuki poured herself a glass. She remembered the last time she had stolen Sake from her father, though he probably deserved it at the time. She stared at the cup for a few moments before putting it to her lips and drinking it all. "My, my. It's been so long I'd forgotten how good this really was," She smiled. "Little pleasures. I'm so very good at forgetting little pleasures. Like, hm, I smoked when I was alive, for a while. As most juvenilles do." She laughed. "Yep, broke that habit once I died."

Raul smirked. "Well, is it possible to smoke in Soul Society? I believe it's a human habit, so I can't exactly compliment you for that..." He took another swig from his cup. "I always have Sake, as you know. I can hold my liquor better than any Shinigami, I believe. Well, perhaps if old Shunsui were still here, he could give me a run for my money. I've heard of him. He sounds an awful lot like me." He smiled. "Maybe we could have been good friends..."

"That closet pervert? Pft, just like every other man on earth. Money, alcohal and girls." She smiled. "Just kidding, only you and him and some other people who shall remain nameless." She poured herself another glass. "Why do you always feel better when your in a place you really don't like with a person you don't praticularrly like drinking something you probably shouldn't be." She though about. "Another question of this world that may never be answer." She took another sip.

Raul chuckled. "Just a few of the mysteries of life. Oh, and I don't think there was anything 'closet' about the perverts you listed off. Except maybe me. I've gotta retain my image..." He shook his head, still smirking to himself.
Taking another swig, he scratched his head. "You know, actually, come to think of it, I really don't have to worry about my image. The only ones who truly care anymore are the other Captains, and frankly, don't get me wrong, but I stopped caring what the others thought a while ago..."

Zuki smirked. "Yeah, don't worry, we noticed." She took another delicate sip of sake. "Well, if anyone asks, I still don't like you and you weren't hanging around at my house. Though I'm sure you're the guy my father would like around the house," She blew a piece of hair out of her face. "It's so annoying. Honestly, if I wanted to marry a rich snotty person I would. I am really sick of rich snotty people."
She set her sake dow and leaned back in the chair she was sitting in. "Ever notice that most rich parents want their kid toarry a rich person, but only if their kid is a girl. It's like that movie, Titanic. The girl from a rich family is supposed to marry some rich bastard but falls in love with a romantic yet poor man. How romantic."

Raul looked at her, confused. "Titanic? Keep in mind, I was born here..." He smirked, and pointed to her cup of Sake. "Are you gonna drink that? Because it's a shame to waste." He cracked his neck. "You'll marry who you want, and if you don't want anyone, you won't marry. Simple as that. I've never really thought about it. I figured it was simple..." He slouched in the chair, yawning.
"Just because one is wealthy, doesn't make them different. Heck, looking at me, one might think I'm a bum. But in actuality, I'm the head of the rather important Clan, the..." He jokingly pondered for a moment. "Oh yes, the Shihouin Clan. Don't know if you've heard of it, but it's rather important."

Zuki shook her head sadly. "As a male you don't have to worry about such things. It's easy for you to say that you marry when you want because you can! I've seen so many rich girls get married to some rich guy they didn't even know. Yep, I'm lucky none of my parents were that pushy. It's truely tragic."
"Just to let you know, I know LOADS about your clan. What part of smartest-person-in-the-Soul-Society do you not understand? You are truly the most thick headed and dull brained man I have ever met." She looked down at the sake and picked it up, downing the rest of it in a smalll gulp. "Happy?" She set the glass down.

Raul frowned. "Not really. Had you not finished, I'd have had another." He smiled once more. "You may be smartest, but I've got your number when it comes to best. After all, everyone knows I'm at the top of the food chain here." He loved poking fun at Zuki, as usual. She may be the smartest, but as long as he never admitted that she was the best, she'd be driven to any length of frustration.
"Anyways, tell me, what's the big deal about being rich, anyways? After all, we're just like anyone else. Hell, I rarely find the need for my status..."

Zuki scowled. "One thing about being best is that you also have to be modest. Modesty is something that you have yet to aqquire." She leaned back in her seat. "And that's why people don't usually like you, your to full of yourself. Though you, 'don't care about what people think', you'd honor your clan more if you were more modest." She grabbed her sake glass and hid it under the floor boards were all the others were stashed. "You done?" She gestured to the sake.
She heard the clicking of a door handle. "Oh shit..." She searched half heartedly for a reiatsu. "Mother...we should...go..." Footsteps proceeded down the hall towards them. So naturally she come to the kitchen first! Zuki pushed open the window. "Unless you want to stay for cookies and cakes I'd leave now." She looked at Raul, a worried expression on her face. She really wasn't in a mood for family reiunion.
"Who's there?" A slender dark haired woman stood in the doorway. "Tsukiyo? Raul Shihouin?" She moved into the kitchen. "Pleaser to have you in my house. Tsukiyo, you didn't say you were bringing a boy over."

Raul stood, turned to the woman, and bowed respectfully. "I'm terribly sorry, I'm afraid I intruded. Zuki came here, just to say hello to you, and I decided I would join. I did not mean to take advantage of your hospitality. Believe me, your daughter is quite courteous." He walked over to here, and extended his hand for a handshake. "As much as you already know me, I believe introductions are in order. I'm Raul Shihouin. It's a pleasure it make your aquaintance."
Raul cringed inwardly. He knew that there would most likely be no repercussions for entering the house, however, he hated making bad impressions. As much as he did not care what the other Captains thought of him, citizens of Soul Society mattered to him...

Zuki face palmed herself. Raul may have been a jerk and a moron, maybe even pretty annoying but he was pretty good at saving people. Even if it was just a minor situation. "Yeah. There's the name of the game! Hi...I'm leaving now." She stepped towards the door way.
"Tsukiyo? Won't you and Raul staying for tea?" She shook his hand. "Mizu Kyohaku, pleasure to meet you." She turned her attention back to her daughter. "I'll make mini tarts!" Zuki groaned. Out of all the times for her mother to pamper her she chose now? Talk about rotten luck. "We really must be off." "No I insist, you must stay!" She pushed the girl down in a chair and set three tea cups with plates on the table.

Raul smiled. "Of course, thank you very much." He took a seat in the space provided. Raul had been taught proper eating and manners since he was young, but very rarely chose to exercise them. Though Zuki's mother was so apparently kind to him. She hadn't seen Zuki in quite a while, he supposed. He couldn't blame her for wanting them to stay. He thought about leaving them to talk, but knew this would only make Zuki strangle him later. So, he stayed put.
"Tell me, ma'am, how have you been lately? The house looks phenomenal, I'm quite impressed with how you've maintained it..."

Zuki stared at the table, carved with patterns, all of which she had memorized long ago. Symbols of her clan and it's history. Though the Kyohaku clan was not as noble as Shihouin or Kuchiki they held their own. They were different from many clans in many ways. They did not live even close to Seireitei and did not have many people working for him. Both of which Zuki respected. She folded her arms on her lap.
The woman put a plate of tarts on the table and poured them all a cup of tea, sitting in her own seat. "Why thank you Raul. I do my best to keep my home presentable. It makes me glad to hear the head of the powerful Shihouin clan compliment my humble home."

Raul smiled and shook his head. "Really, it's no problem at all. Please don't think of me as the head of the Shihouin Clan, but as a friend instead." He took the cup of tea, and took a sip before setting it down. "Excellent tea, thank you for making it." He commented, almost forgetting he was being polite and cracking his knuckles, but remembering in time to stop himself.
"Tell me something, Ma'am, how do you feel about your daughter becoming Captain? After all, she's had to work so very hard, you must be quite proud."

Zuki had to refrain herself from hitting her head on the table. Maybe she should have jumped out the window when the opportunity had appeared. Raul was talking to her mother...she could only hope she was dreaming. It wasn't as bad as it could be, her mother could be an embarrassing figure and at least her father wasn't home to make the situation awkward.
"I am very proud of Tsukiyo. She has done this family great honor by obtaining the title of Captain. Even better, Head of Research and Development. It's wonderful." She had sort of a twisted, half smile on her face. She may have been happy for their daughter but her husband never was. Captain was good but he had always thought she could do better. A bit of a disappointment. Though he did not show it most of the time he did care for their daughter, even if she really wasn't their daughter.
