Raul laughed. "Well, the house is clean, certainly. Being away from home so long, I'm sure it feels weird to be back..." He agreed. At the subject of his father, his smiled faded.
"No, I don't mind talking about it." He took a deep breath, "I never knew my father. My mother never told me anything about him, and I never got a chance later on in life to ask, considering she passed when I was in the Academy." He scratched his neck. "I'd often imagined who my father could be, but I really can't figure it out. No one I've asked knows, and I was certainly too young to remember..."
He laughed again, his smile returning. "I'm sure that if I had ever met my father, we'd end up at odds. I'm not exactly easy to get along with, after all."

Zuki smiled. "Yeah, you don't often come off as the peachy keen kind of person really." She put her hands on the bed and leaned back. "But I mean without my father I probably wouldn't be a shinigami. It wasn't my goal intentionally, I did enough fighting in my human life but I guess he just pushed me along. Though I probably could've avoided some things I'd rather forget I also would've missed out on a lot of good things to remember. She nodded to herself. "I mean when you think about it, you were born to be rich, heck I just lucked out with both sets of my parents." She laughed. "But I guess that's not really me, in the end. I 'spose it's better to take what fate gives you in the end that to resent it because it's not who you really are. Everything is a game of survival and you're winning and I'm winning, but Roren, Roren in loosing. That's why we really need to get him back."

Raul sighed. "Well, this is one cruel game we're playing, but I suppose I'm good at it..." He chuckled again. "My mother never spoiled me, because of my lineage. Most assume that's what happens, but I grew up with the bare essentials, only getting more when I was hurt. From birth, I was trained to be the Clan Leader. Such pressure...I'm surprised I came out as well as I did..." He smirked.
"So, when are we opening the Garganta? I can do it at any time, but I'm sure you want to wait until I've healed fully..."

She thought about it for a second. She had never thought of his mother as someone who would spoil her son much so it made sense. She wouldn’t have expected Raul to be a spoiled person even if he was a noble. She couldn’t say the same for herself though. She had been spoiled all her life though it never really took effect on her as it had on others she had seen and Raul was not one of those people. She almost laughed out loud at the thought of him being spoiled. “You say this game we are playing is cruel. But how? Life is just as cruel if not more so. Nothing is to cruel to be said cruel because only those who know the true meaning of cruel can define it justly and I am quite certain that is neither of us.” She said, “But who’s to ask me m opinions when we’ve much more important thing to do.” She stood up and paced through the room, thinking about how they would proceed in the experimentation or Garganta. “We can start any time you feel you’re read I suppose. Any time you feel like you can successfully reach Bankai without difficulty, I won’t make any decisions based on your health conditions of that time, it’ll be up to you to decide and when you’re ready just drop in, I open any space in my schedule for this. Even if it’s incredibly late at night though I suggest not, my subordinates are usually asleep at such times, well most everyone is, everyone that isn’t me.” She stood in front of her old mirror and looked at herself. “You do realize that this could kill you. It could kill us both, it could kill everyone, if we fail. I’m sure that’s understood by Soutaichou, Central 46 and the king but I still can’t shake the feeling that I might make a mistake. If I did, I could be the downfall of the whole Soul Society.” She tucked a lock of her blonde hair behind in one of her ears. “But if we should succeed… we would win this war.” She smiled weakly at him. She couldn’t, she wouldn’t be the downfall of them all. They would succeed, she knew it. They’d succeed for Roren who was in Hueco Mundo now because he wanted her to be there, the help the Soul Society and under no circumstances would she let them fail, she just couldn’t. “Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; Seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come'. Julius Caesar, Act II, Scene II.” She laughed a bit at herself. “One of my favorite lines in all his plays. I’ve read all of them and quote to myself, mostly. I think that quote because it’s so true to life. So infinite in its message, you can interpret in any way you please. It’s so true, so down to earth.”

Raul thought for a moment. "I can achieve Bankai, no problem. The only problem would be my condition battling the Arrancar. I'll give myself another 5 days. That means I'll have had another week since the incident. That should also give me time to improve." He laughed. "You think I fear death? I've been ready, willing, to accept it, for the longest time. What I do not accept is needless death. I'm afraid I'm not as worldly as you, and thus, know no quotes to fit the situation. Perhaps I'll make my own, one day..."

"I do not fear death, you do not fear death. Captains should not fear death, we must be fearless." She glanced at him. "I have no doubt that you will be able to use bankai, no doubt at all. The only question I have is, if you reach bankai, succesfully open the Garganta and we enter, then will you be able to fight? I know you can try but if we should have a run in with arrancar, two captains, sorry, a captain and a 'lieutenant' probably won't do much except get ourselves killed, that is if you can't fight efficiantly." She pondered this notion. She was sure that he'd fight with everything he had but what if after opening the gate everything he had was not everything they needed?

Raul sighed. "I guess you're right, I should make sure I'm ready. I know for sure I could take on some of the Espada at this point, but I don't think I can get past number 8 before being strained..." He rolled his right shoulder. "I'm not going to seek that bitch out, but if I see her, don't expect me to ignore it. She's had this coming..." He said the name again in his head. Taka Kasai. The one he would bear. The one he would kill. The one he would not show mercy...

"I woudn't worry about it, Raul. I know you can kill her, I'm sure of it...well, it does depend on whatnumber she is, but I'm sure you'll get her anyway. I could guarentee myself, and maybe you, if you don't mind a bit of ice, into Las Noches but we'll probably need more of a team then just ourselfs, if just we went I can be sure of our deaths, mostly." She smiled at him. "But don't worry, either way I am sure that we will suceed. We'll get Roren back and you can kill the women at the same time."

Raul smirked. "I know I'll get her. The only thing is...she's sitting in Las Noches, laughing at me, and thinking me weak. I want to show her how pitiful she really is, but I have to wait for the wounds that SHE gave me to heal. That's what is eating me up inside." He looked over to her. "I suppose we each have events in our life that we have to deal with. And we all have to deal with them...with a little help from our allies..."
The message had double meaning, of course. He was speaking both of his plight, and her feelings about Aiji's death. He didn't want to say it, but he would be there to support her. He wanted her to know...he cared about it...

Zuki looked up at him. She knew what he was trying to say. "Yes, I suppose you're right." She coughed. "In a battle between to people who remain undefeated one must loose that title. The same goes for two people who have never felt heartbreak, well not in a literal sense, but in that case, I'm afraid both people must loose." She muttered more to herself then him. "But the past in the past. If I had already figured out a way to turn back time I would've put it in effect a while ago." She smiled at him. "I'm sure we both would."

Raul chuckled. "I'm surprised you haven't though of a way yet. I mean, after all those long hours you put in working, you must have come up with multiple inventions, and a way to expand on every invention that's already been made." He smiled, teasing her. "After all, we all have difference callings. You're smart, and a great singer. I'm..." He counted off on his fingers. "Let's see, strong, fast, handsome, smart, though not as smart as you, funny, kind, generous, a good speaker, and a fantastic cook."

She scowled, an annoyed look on her face. "I'm not only supremely smart and a good singer but it really hurt when I punch you in the nose, or the gut." She cracked her knuckles. "And the offer of me bashing your head into a wall is still open." She raised her eyebrows. "And along with that I'm strong, intelligent and I can always think of a good argument to prove someone wrong. If that isn't awesome than I don't know what is, and I am the smartest person in the Soul Soul Society so I would know what awesome is."

Raul laughed. "Ok, maybe you're right, Zuki." He got to his knees, and waved his arms in the 'we are not worthy' way. "All hail Queen Zuki, the most awesome person in all of Soul Society." He looked up, and tilted his head. "Now, tell me. Is there any food, or possibly Sake in this house?" He began wandering around. "Don't mind me, they won't even know it's missing, I'm sure. And if they do, they'll believe it's you!"

Zuki laughed. "Yeah, we've got food and sake, the works. At least we did the last time I was here." She walked outside her room and slid down the railing of the stairs. "Follow me, the kitchens just around here!" She yelled up at him. Zuki walked down a hallway, turned, walked down another one and entered a room. "I still don't get the whole empty room factor of this house." She looked around the kitchen and walked over to the far end of the room and pulled up a floor board. "Dad's stash of Sake...he's lucky mom never found it, but I did." She pulled out a bottle and a few cups, putting them on the table."

Raul sat down. "Well, I suppose we can drink to success..." He said, pouring himself a cup. "To the Gotei 13, to all Shinigami in general. To the death of all Hollows and enemies, and to the success of our plan." He said, holding his cup up. "Cheers..." He said, and drained the cup in one sip...
