Mifune was walking around, it was already nighttime, but he wasn´t at ease, ending in him geting up for a walk. He was in hsi leisure clothes, the OSAMURAI was well suiting him. It stood in big letters on the middle of his chest and at his back. He sighed, something he did to much lately, there was a storm brewing, and he didn´t meant the one that was at the sky. He had a kinda bad feeling. He had even brought his sword along to feel more safely.
He walked to the gates of the 13th division and then lit up a cigarette, the nights were at least not so warm as the days, he could easily live with only nights. He sat down and looked around, he was glad that since the 13th division wasn´t that big, they had plastered everything and there were pillows everywhere. Also he was glad that they didn´t had that much to do, since early times, the 13th division were always a laid back organisation, they sometimes had even less to do than the 8th division.

"Mi-fu-ne-saaaaaaaaan!" came a sing-song voice from not far behind Mifune. If he looked behind him, he would see a man in a Captain's haori like him with light brown hair in a mop top that covered most of his face save his mouth and chin and had a similar colored goatee. He was smiling widely as he walked, waving at Mifune. "Having fun?" he asked, still smiling. Despite what one might think, this was indeed the Soutaichou of Soul Society. That is, the Captain-Commander. The head of the Gotei 13 and the strongest one to boot.
"I'm sure with nothing to do you must be enjoying yourself! If not, mind walking with me? I feel like having a talk with someone. And I'm sure a Captain would have something interesting to talk about!" he spoke, still smiling. He was old yet he always carried that childish and ridiculously positive attitude that made one wonder if he was alright in the head. Usually men his age were meant to appear wise or something like that. He was just fun-loving.

Mifune just looked up as he saw the soutaichou as he ever was, he was still acting this childish. But even so, he was sure that when it would go for seireitei, he would show his true colors. But for now, he just was to hilarious at some times and flashy. He was the exakt opposite of the old man. "What´cha doin out here... Soutaichou?" Everytime he said that and imagined Saburo sitting at the old chair, he was just before laughing.
Though he didn´t looked in the soutaichous face, he knew what expression he would have after this words. So he stood up and said: "Saburo, huh? For a walk? Fine with me, let´s go for a walk." Though he knew that it wouldn´t be that much of a walk for real, but more a long talk, he would just go with him, maybe even easing his mind.

Saburo grinned as Mifune agreed to walk with him and began walking alongside the 13th Division's Captain, still smiling. "Ah, I decided to take a walk, see the sights and bring back a souvenir. Oh wait, I forgot. I'm not on holiday. I really wish I was though" he said with mock depression in his voice. "But to be serious, I really just decided to go for a walk. They help me relax".
As they walked, Saburo looked around him at the scenery. He always loved taking walks at night, especially at midnight when no one was around and he could think to himself about life. "Mifune-san... I'm sure you've heard the news just like the other Captains. There's a strong possibility that the Espada and the Vizard are working together" he told him, this time with a more serious tone.

Another sign of his easy going. Mifune shook the head, how could one so high, be so easy going? He had to take responsibility and also show that in his steps, that was also, why he couldn´t respect Saburo as he may have been worth. But anyways he thought, for now I won´t give him any suffixes or title until he shows what he could do with his position. He looked at him from the side as they walked together, he gave off a somewhat scary aura, but if that wasn´t, he couldn´t differentiate him with a kid.
He looked in front again, while opening his eyes a bit more as he heard what Saburo was talking about. Yeah, he had heard about it, maybe too well. That was one of the reasons he was trying so hard to get sleep and not thinking about this theme, but now that he had began talking about it. "So? Isn´t that somehow the wrong destination you are controling this to? Since when do you think that seireitei can´t take these few on?" though he said that, one like Saburo would most likely hear the not righteous tone out of Mifunes voice. "For the walk, you are right, it´s nice because you can calm down and see things out of other perspectives."

As the two walked, Saburo was smiling happily, much like a kid. Some were amazed that this man could be the head of an entire portion of the Soul Society's army. After all, there were three military groups and the most powerful one was the Gotei 13, which he was the head of. But, even so, just his spiritual pressure alone was enough to amaze many.
"You don't understand, do you, Mifune-san? We are a strong, untied, military force and with the Quincy, we are powerful. But even so, you have to understand the damage the Espada can do. As we know, thirteen Vasto Lordes could completely decimate Soul Society. And when they're transformed into Arrancar, they become much more powerful. And the Vizard are made up of former Captains and Vice-Captains. Such a frighteningly strong force could prove the end to Soul Society if we don't play our cards right. There's a strong possibility that you could die, as well as every other Captain, including even me" Saburo admitted. However, he suddenly turned to Mifune with a big grin on his face. "And in that case, all we have to do is win <3! It's gonna be tough, but you can be sure we will live to drink sake again!" he spoke, reverting to his childish attitude.

"Hoh? I would die to see you after the war still smiling as you do now, like nothing has ever happened, drinking sake while caring for teh dead ones, huh?" Though he said that with a calm voice as he ever did, everyone who would hear him would know, that it was pure sarcasm.
"Even though, I think you are right, they aren´t a force to be reckoned with, it could be nearly mpossible for us even if we can strengthen our alliance with the quincy, as we just don´t have enough shinigami that are trained enough, nor good enough to be called a real army. Just look at your so mighty army soutaicho-san, half of them are drunk as soon as the sun rises and the other half is sleeping while they should be on patrol. The rukongai is as bad as ever and what´s worse, some are already defecting, and what do we do, talking about? Making meetings with highly important themes?" Mifune spit to the side. "That won´t do any good, we have to change from our old ways."

Well now, I doubt you'd be able to see me smiling and drinking sake while caring for the dead ones if you're dead and buried in a grave" Saburo told him, smirking. "I'd rather not see you die. After all, then I'd lose a son" Saburo told him, smiling as ever as he walked alongside him.
"Not trained or good enough? I told you to be wary but that's a bit far don't you think? Sure, we have drunks and lazy men and women, but there is still hope. The Gotei 13's strength is always said to have come from it's Captains but I say, what is a Captain's strength without a group to fall back on? We have Vice-Captains and Seated members and other officers who are all dedicated and willing to see that justice prevails" Saburo told him. "And trust me, times will change. The Gotei 13 shook the spirit world before with the defeat of Aizen but this time, it's going to shake the Universe. I'll see that it does because otherwise, I won't be ab;e to see any of my sons or daughters again".

"Sorry, just stating what I think that it would be good to be changed, but it´s after all your´s to see how you understand out of my words." Mifune said with a kind of ironic voice. "Let´s talk about something other, how is your division doing?" He asked, because he kinda wanted to come away from this theme before he got in rage or the soutaichou was getting mad. He just wanted to walk a bit and talk about small themes like this. After all, they both had different kind of perspectives and Mifune wasn´t really against shinigami, he just wanted to tell what he feared what could happen if they were to let on an even longer leash.

"It's alright, everyone has their opinions. And those opinions are valid unless proven otherwise" Saburo told him, smiling. "Besides! I myself enjoy a good drink and I can be lazy sometimes but that doesn't mean I'm under-skilled! Hahaha!" Saburo added, grinning like an idiot. The man was ridiculously optimistic and cheerful at times. This was probably the best example.
"My Division? Well, they've been great! We're in need of a new Vice-Captain due to some unforeseen circumstances but otherwise it's nothing much. We'll have a new one in no time!" Saburo told him. "All we need is a strong, dedicated Shinigami. I'm sure there's one on these streets somewhere".

Yeah, the last war had ripped many people away from their positions, even the, or better also the 13tgh division was in search of members as well. He wouldn´t mutter about it, but they should search more for people with reiatsu out there to fill their ranks. "That´s great, my division is disciplined as ever, but as well we have some problems here and there like every otehr division. But they are really heated up for the next fight. They train like mad and learn every day much more than before." That was kinda a bluff, but even so, he wanted to hold up the talk and since he didn´t really knew how he should otherwise he did it like this.

Saburo listened as he spoke about the Thirteenth Division and how it was disciplined and ready to fight. He chuckled, seeing a sort of similarity between the Thirteenth and Eleventh Divisions in how they apparently wanted to fight. Well, Eleventh would fight anything for any reason so the Thirteenth were probably more tame. The Eleventh was mostly just fighters. Good with a sword though.
"My, it seems as though the moon is shining brightly tonight. It's so huge up there in the sky" Saburo muttered, looking up at the moon. "I always wondered why it is that we love to stare up at it. Maybe it's just human, or Shinigami, nature. Still, I never get tired of drinking sake in the moonlight".
Not turning his head to look at Mifune, he spoke again. "Mifune-san... What do you want to protect?" he asked. It was a rather random question, but he still wanted to know the answer.

"What I want to protect?" Mifune shook his head, there were so many things, he wanted to stay the things they were and some things would be good if they would change quite a bit. But to say what he really wanted to defend was rather problematic. But then he muttered something, quietly. "Smiles..."
Yeah, that was what he wanted to protect, even if he didn´t done that too often, he would try to protect these. So he said out loud. "I know this sounds kinda weird, but I want to protect everyones smiles at least. Even if it would cost my life, then I wouldn´t mind seeing you from wherever drinking sake and smiling." Yeah, that was what he really wanted, Mifune had a hard exterior, but a kinda soft core. Though this core was spiky at times. "I couldn´t stand to see everyone only having sad faces, there should be a possibility so that no one gets hurt and everyone can be happy all the time. I know this is rather egoistic, but at least, that is what I think about it. Though I wouldn´t tell anyone of that. What do you want to protect sou taichou?"

Saburo chuckled and shook his head. "Boy, you're an idiot. There's nothing weird about wanting to protect smiles. Making people happy is a hard thing, making them sad is easy. If you want to fight to make people happy, then you're entitled to do so" Saburo told him, still chuckling a bit.
"Me? Well..." he started, looking back up at the sky. "What I want to protect is much bigger. Much, much bigger. I want to protect you. And the other Captains. And all the Shinigami under the lot of you. I want to protect all my sons and daughters. If there was some way I could fight for all of you and finish the incoming war myself, I would. Just to protect you all from any danger" he spoke, still chuckling. "Sadly, at this age or any other that'd be impossible so I'm going to protect as many as I can from danger".
