Haruaki smirked. Karinne always said these things in such a way that one could not possibly feel insulted, yet at the same time, they would know that they were, in fact, being insulted. One of her talents, he supposed. Watching Merk, the boy seemed pretty on edge. It may have just been because the plan of Las Noches was unfolding, but he sensed that it may be something else.
"Merk...is everything alright with you? You're not having second thoughts, are you?"

Merk looked up at Haruaki. "Yes, everything's alright. I was just thinking about how I lost to that Captain back in Soul Society. I was wondering if I was actually up to the task that all of you are laying down for me. After all, the only one I beat was a Lieutenant because I sneak attacked her, and I got lucky with the Captain. When that other Captain came...I couldn't do anything..."
He raised his hands to about neck level, gazing at them. "With all these hands have done, you'd have thought I could have beaten all of them easily..."

Karinne rolled her eyes. "Honestly Merk-san, stop beating of yourself. OF COURSE you couldn't take them on, it's only natural. You're good for some stuff and bad for some other stuff, we all are, it's nothing to be ashamed of." She took a step towards him. "Espada can defeat captains and lieutenants, you shouldn't have to."
She swallowed the rest of her candy. He seemeed flustered about it, but that was only natural. Karinne herself wasn't the best fighter, but she could win her own. She was more of a helper, she didn't do the fighting she did the healing, but if she got in a brawl she could do damage. In case of emergency she was trained to have a speedy Sonido, jsut in case it was neccisary for her to get to an area quickly. On top of that she made the enviroment lighter and could usually brighten up someone's day.
She hadn't seen Haruaki fight in a while, she knew he could stratagize circles around anyone but she really didn't have a clue about his fighting, a good example of how much she didn't pay attention. But that wasn't a problem for them, with their tasks she didn't think they'd be fighting anytime in the near future.

Haruaki smirked. "Actually, I'm surprised you got past the first two Shinigami. You must have more fight in you than we think, though it obviously just wasn't enough..." He didn't want to comfort Merk completely. He did not want Merk to think him weak, because of any ties, or friendships. "Tell me something, Merk, who do you think is most likely to kill you, in this entire place. In all of Hueco Mundo?"
He awaited Merk's answer. The boy seemed quite reserved, and quiet. He wondered if he feared for his life...

Merk thought for a moment. "Well, Sakrikao may hate me, but he'd underestimate me. I could probably get away, if he attacked me. Gabriel and Haydn respect Rangis far too much to attack me, who is in his service. Taka, while she may not be nice, seems like she at least likes what I can do. And as for Kyoko, well, she seems too passive. Thus, the two top candidates would be Rangis and Taka. If I fail Rangis, he'll kill me, for sure. And if I anger Taka enough, she might attempt to hurt me. But what do I know?"
He smiled. "I'll never fail Rangis, and I'm very polite to everyone, so I doubt I'm in danger."

Karinne cackled. "Yeah, I wouldn't hold it past 'em-" She stopped. "You know what I mean." She folded her arms, pondering over the boys facial expression and the way he stood. She had learned from the best that you could gather so much about someone just by how they carried themselves, and she was fortunate enough to know how to read it.
"All good answers I suppose. And I of course have responses to all of them. Sakrikao may underestimate you but escaping from the Primera Espada would be difficult. True Hadyn and Gabriel seem to loyal to attack you but remember that they are hollows, you can't put anything past them. You say that Taka is impressed with your skills, but what I know of her she seems like less of a killing person, though angering her could prove lethal. As for Rangis, he'll kill anyone who gets in his way. Well most people."

Haruaki sighed, and gazed out the window once more. Hueco Mundo. It had been his home his entire life, of course, and nothing compared to its beauty. It was hypnotic, the White Desert. The moon of Hueco Mundo...
Hearing them speaking of the Espada, he turned. "I'd say the same thing, Merk. That is, if your skills are all you say they are. Then, you might stand a chance of getting away, or paralyzing the Primero Espada before your death. I'd calculate it at a 17.5% chance, but a chance nonetheless. Especially with your abilities..."
He laughed. "Tell me, Merk, do any of them suspect?"

Merk cackled. "No, of course not. Everything's going according to plan. Just like you said it would. Of course, it's going to take some slick maneuvering on my part to work out the final bit, but it'll work nonetheless. I hope you two are ready, because it's not going to be easy." He sighed, and scratched his head.
"Sometimes I wonder if anyone really knows what goes on in my head. I doubt it, I'm a hard book to read..."
