A lone figure could be seen walking down the small streets of Karakura as school ended. With the school day over, the figure was now on his way home to relax for a while. Well, maybe not exactly. 'Relaxing' wasn't necessarily something he particularly liked. No, this person preferred to keep himself in top shape.
From one look, one could gather that he was an intellectual, mainly due to the glasses he wore, his serious expression and his neat uniform, a symbol of his pride and maturity. He was not some rebellious teen or anything. Rather, he was more along the lines of a 'genius'.
Most knew him as the smartest in their class, as well as their class president. Others knew him as the track star, being able to run 100m in ten seconds flat. The rest merely thought of him as some stuck-up loser, although they were the ones who envied him.
And finally, everyone knew him as a member of the Ishida Clan, a large family in Karakura that had existed for as long as the Kurosaki's, maybe even longer. They were primarily the owners of Karakura hospital, although secretly, they were actually one of the last Quincy clans alive on Earth. And this person was it's heir, Ishida Ryuuzaki...

Rebel held the bag awkwardly over her shoulder. She wasn’t used to such devices for carrying. She wasn’t used to any of it really. Not the clothing, not the language. But it was nice, and different, different was a good thing. She reached into the bag and pulled out a piece of paper. She read it with difficulty, still not used to the form of writing that these Áiseachs* used. She was fairly sure she could find her way back to her place of living without directions. She began to walk, thinking about the route she had taken to get to the school. The amount of people grew thiner, and Rebel, almost grew lost. “Damnú air*!” She cursed to herself. All the street signs were so confusing. Seriously, their alphabet was a bunch of lines, how did they learn such things!
She sighed and kept a steady pace, if she wanted to find her way home she might actually hve to ask for help, no matter how much it pained her. She looked around, trying to find a semi-kind looking person to help her and understand her accent. She spotted a boy, who looked about her age. She walked slowly over to him. “Um, excuse me, I’m kind of lost, could you help me?”

Hearing a voice with a strange accent, Ryuuzaki momentarily stopped and turned around to see who had spoken. It was a girl who was around his age with red hair who looked much... Different to others he had met. Although, he realized why it was so instantly. She wasn't japanese.
Deciding to answer, his lips parted as he gave her an answer. "I shall. Where is it you are trying to go?" he asked politely, but in an emotionless monotone. He was polite, but only because he didn't want people to think he was at their level. No, he was above them, but should he speak down to them, they would see him as lower. He could not have that. After all, he wanted everyone to know just how perfect he was.
"I'm guessing you're trying to get home, perhaps?" he asked, taking note of the fact that at this time, most his age would still be on their way home.

Rebel blinked a few times. She wasn’t very fond of the way he spoke but decided to respond politely anyways. “As you can probably tell, I’m not from around here. I’m not quite used to the writing system you use and I’m afraid I got lost,” She smiled nervously. “It’d be much appreciated if you could give me directions or something.” She held the sheet of paper out to him. “That’s where I’m trying to go.” She kicked her shoe on the ground and looked around. Next to him she probably looked like a complete idiot.
She couldn’t help but feel a bit odd around him. Not only was he local but he was probably smarter than she’d ever be and she just got this feeling that there was something weird about him. She ignored it, feelings like that were usually just her being, well, her.

"I see" he replied as he took the sheet and stared at it. "I suppose it is hard to adapt to another country's customs. Unless of course you are a very multi-lingual person" he added as he looked at the sheet of paper, trying to map out the directions in his mind. Once done, he spoke again.
"It's not that far from here. Go down the road and take the first left, take the second right and take the next left after that. On the third left after that, you should be on the right street" he told her, having it perfectly mapped out in his head.
"Tell me... What school around here do you go to? Is it Karakura High?" he asked, mostly out of curiosity. It was a possibility after all. Perhaps he'd see her again there. Not that he really cared either way. "By the way, I am Ishida Ryuuzaki. You?".

“Well I am multi-lingual, but Japanese is nothing like Latin, French, English or Gaelic,” She shook her head. “I’m from Scotland, everything here is really different. “ Rebel listened to him give directions, and frankly, all of it flew in one ear and out the other. She laughed nervously, she could just find her own way, she found her way to Japan, and how hard could a house be? Probably fairly hard. “Yeah, I go to Karakura High, it was my first day today, actually my first day in a regular school ever.” When he said his name a puzzled expression spread across her face. She had heard a bunch of odd names here, his would be one of them. In Scotland people weren’t named like that, she doubted anyone in her family had ever even a smidge of Japanese. “My names…Rebel, Rebel Scarlet.” She almost said Morgana MacLeod but she couldn’t go by that name anymore, it wasn’t hers anymore.
She almost laughed at herself. Her old life seemed so barbaric to the way people lived here. They were advanced, she lived in a stinky old castle. Sure it had “history” and “importance” to her clan but she was a teenager, she couldn’t care less about “history” or “importance”, everything here was so pristine so iomlánv*.

"I suppose so. Ours wouldn't exactly be influenced by one of your Celtic languages" Ryuuzaki replied, listening to her speak. "I see. I have never been to Scotland, although I have heard a few things about it. Nothing much really".
"Interesting, it seems I may see you at school then. I too go there" he told her, thinking of her next words. Never even been to regular school? He wondered wether her parents were behind the rest of the world or if she was home-schooled, but didn't ask. No real reason to, anyway.
"Nice to meet you, Rebel-san" he added, staying polite and formal. He was about to ask something, but something suddenly made him more alert. He could sense one. A Hollow. It seemed he couldn't get some peace from them. He tried not to make himself look suspicious however, considering that she didn't seem spiritually empowered so far, and spoke again.
"Excuse me, I'm afraid I have to go" he told her as he began to walk away. After rounding a corner, he broke into a run and was heading towards the Hollow. Little did he know however that while it seemed to be going to him, it was actually headed in the direction of Rebel...

Rebel’s senses picked up the feeling again, the Cuas*. An odd feeling brewed in her stomach, he seemed to be trying to find some, maybe the hollow? Her eyes darted around nervously, sure she had defeated hollows before but she wasn’t allowed to reveal her secret and with him just around the corner, it made her very anxious. She felt it coming closer, she could run, she could fight. Running was for cowards, she’d just defeat it and leave, but school was just out…what if someone saw?
She shook the idea out of her head, she had to kill the thing before it hurt anyone. Rebel looked deep inside herself, its presence growing nearer and nearer. It was strong, definitely, there was no doubt about that. She looked around her, black fire emanating from her. “That’s better,” She muttered to herself. She felt the hollow before she saw it. The ugly creature saw Rebel too.
She stared up at it. “Well aren’t you the little tuilí *?” She slowly lifted her arm and pointed a finger at him. “Infusco Exuro!” An orb of the black fire substance shot out of her finger like a bolt of lightning, heading top speed at the hollow. It hit him in the shoulder, making his whole arm ignite in the fiery substance. She could feel and hear his pain, backing away slightly, just so on his rampage he wouldn’t hit her. “Mallaigh*, I was aiming for his chest.”

Ryuuzaki frowned as he began to home in on it with his senses, trying to pinpoint it's exact location. Soon enough, he had gotten a lock but, to his displeasure, it was back where Rebel was. Oh how he hated it when Hollows kept moving around really fast. They annoyed him as they were harder to pinpoint. Deciding quickly, he gathered reishi under his feet and took off.
Meanwhile, the Hollow roared and raised it's other hand. As it swung down however, a shot of blue energy pierced it's hand and pinned it to a wall, and soon saw a silhouette looking down upon the Hollow, glaring at him. Pushing up his glasses, he raised his spirit bow and notched an arrow.
"It seems you're more interesting than I thought, Rebel-san. I wasn't expecting to meet a woman with reiatsu. If I had, maybe I would've noticed. Your fire attack is... Interesting, to say the least" Ryuuzaki spoke, still staring at the Hollow. With no second thought, he let the arrow fly and shoot through it's leg, keeping it further pinned. With one last arrow, he pierced the last limb and let his bow disappear.
"A Shinigami will come soon, Hollow. Be lucky I choose to give souls a second chance" he muttered and looked back to Rebel. Perhaps she'd be more interesting than he thought.

Rebel tilted her head. “You must be one of those, er, Quincys…right? Yeah, I heard they use bows and arrows and such. Well, that’s a pretty nice technique you’ve got yourself. You remind me of my brother Malcolm, always used to chide me for saying to much. He used to tell me, ‘Beagan agus a ra go maith, deirfiúr’. It means, ‘Say little but say it well, sister’. I never abide by those words, ever, always talking.” Her smiled faded at the mention of her powers. “I don’t know how they came about, I just had them for some reason. It was odd, different. You expected that to be your fate but I expected just to be a good Scottish house-wife… now I’m in Japan! Most girls from home probably think Japan is the name of a horse!” Her smile returned. “But like a tadpole I must venture from my family into a new world.”

Leaping down, he landed gracefully on the ground, as if he had done this a thousand times before, and turned to Rebel, listening as she spoke. So she knew of the Quincy? That was... Interesting. Perhaps there were Quincies near where she once lived. Or maybe she met one on the way to here. Either way, it didn't make much of a difference.
"You don't know how it came about? Well, I suppose those who are new to reiatsu would not understand the importance of it. Or how it works, for that matter" Ryuuzaki commented, thinking on her powers. She seemed... Interesting. That attack looked like a Shinigami's Kidou but seemed to be cast in a different way.
"Of course. If that is how you want to put it. I'm not going to ask why you left home and came here since really, chances are you're probably an exchange student or something. However, might I ask how it is that you know about the Quincy?" he asked, interested slightly. For all he new, there could be any reason why she knew of them but he decided to just listen.

She thought for a moment. "Well I mostly just know of the Quincy because someone explained it all to me. Those Hollows, the Shinigami, Quincy, everything to their knowledge." She wasn't sure if she should tell him she wasn't there for an exchange trip, she barely knew what and exchange trip was! Even she wasn't quite sure why she was there, she just knew it was the right place to be.
"I'm not here to learn about your culture, I'm quite sick of learning about any sort of culture really. I'm here because I'm supposed to be, though I can't say why or how, maybe it's just because I have nowhere else to go. Well...I've gone and said t much again now haven't I?" She groaned, a big mouth was such the problem.

"Someone?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. She had most likely spoken with a Quincy, although there was a good chance she might've spoken with someone else by the way she spoke. Who else could have spiritual powers like hers? He couldn't name any, other than the Kurosaki clan. And he doubted that they did.
"It is alright. Although, I don't quite understand what you mean by 'You're meant to be here'. You make it sound as if it was fated to happen" he replied, wondering what exactly she was talking about. Although, she did mention she had said too much. Would she say any more now?

"Yes someone. Someone who must remain nameless for his or her sake," She laughed. "People tell you to say the weirdest things. Oh well, I suppose that's just the way it should be." She shrugged, people here were more secretive than she would ever have thought to be. Always hiding something from someone, back home secrets were sins, except everyone had them. They were sins that everyone had commited and everyone knew it, but here secrets were the choice of life or death, not heaven or damnation.
"I say everything is meant to be because it is. If something is meant to happen it will. I was meant to come here, I was meant to meet you. That hollow was meant to fight us," She put an emphesis every time she said meant. "If something is supposed to happen it will and if something isn't supposed to happen it won't. That's just the way things were meant to be."

Hearing her state that she wasn't going to name the person for his or her sake, he decided not to question further. She was at least smart enough to know how to cover her tracks in speech so as not to accidentally let slip any information. Definitely a smart girl. And interesting, to say the least. Perhaps he could find out more about this person she referred to later. For now, it didn't seem likely. He'd have to do something about it later.
"I suppose that would mean you are a fatalist, right? Someone who believes in fate? I must say, not many that I have met share that viewpoint. My grandfather even tried to remove that part of me. I probably would have, too, had I not realized the truth..." he muttered. In his thoughts, he had added 'The fact that I was meant to be perfect'. His grandfather always said you had choices in life but Ryuuzaki realized, after he died, that people thought highly of him because he was higher than them. And someday soon, he would be the Quincy Clan Leader.
